All About the Coloring Book

First off, this Axolotl coloring book has 55 pages of feisty and fun baby axolotls! The pictures depict the cute cubby little salamanders as playful and mischievous with their wild gills-like manes spiking or flowing around their faces. While most of the images are black and white, some contain a shadowed effect. The pictures also have backgrounds. For example, there are things like cooking axolotls and ones in bathtubs. I could see where this content may have been created by AI simply because some of the images are a little misformed. For example, a few of the axolotls have their gills a little wonky. But for some cheap fun, I don’t think that hurts anything. It adds a creative, whimsical effect to these little creatures.

Who Would Like This Book?

The images can be pretty detailed, but the content would be a good fit for early elementary-age kids. Those who like Minecraft axolotls probably wouldn’t like this book, as the creatures in this one are very bulbous and round. They have an almost anime-like, so I would recommend this book to anime lovers or those who like a more Kawaii-styled design. If you are doing a scientific study of Axolotls for your homeschool, then I would definitely look for another book. However, based on the pretty pink cover alone, it would make a great gift for young girls who like Axolotls or salamanders.
