If you have a child who loves Minecraft, you must check out this article! We’ve got some great new books for homeschoolers that will keep your kids interested in reading. These Minecraft books for homeschoolers are beginner chapter books and work as the perfect bridge between full-length chapter books and step-into-reading books.

Importance of Reading In Second Grade

Reading is a crucial skill for kids, and homeschoolers are no different. Reading helps your child get ready to learn new things and other subjects, including math and science. When you read with your child, the two of you can talk about what they’ve read together and discuss the ideas you find in books.

Reading at home will also help them develop their imagination, creativity, and ability to think critically about what they read. You might want to set aside time each day or week where your child reads independently so that she can choose her own book or series of books based on her interests or reading level (see our tips below). If she likes Minecraft-themed stories, several out there would be perfect! Homeschoolers should try to read every day.

How to Get Kids to Enjoy Books

The most effective way to get kids to enjoy books is to read books that interest them. This may seem obvious, but it’s worth saying that in case you’re new at homeschooling or trying out different programs.

You can also help your child enjoy books by reading them together with her. You may want to read short stories or poems together before bedtime, which would be a great way for your child to wind down after school and feel ready for sleep!

Alternatively, if you want your child to love independent reading, then give them books they will enjoy. Books can be expensive, but with a Kindle Unlimited Subscription, you can read as many as you want for a small monthly fee.

  • Sing a song about one of these birds (like “I’m Gonna Get You” from The Nightmare Before Christmas).
  • Make some origami swans using this tutorial from Martha Stewart Living’s website – there are some nice photos there so even non-artists like myself can follow along easily enough!

Minecraft Series: Strange Things of the Village

Stranger Things of the Village is our latest Unnofical Minecraft series. It has four books that combine heroes and Minecraft into epic tales of mystery and adventure for kids. In book one, Dawn of the Villagers, Tess helps save the village from the Warden with the help of the Golem guard. In book two, Rise of the Portals, two detectives, Lotte and Seb, work to find a missing ten-year-old boy. They end up finding him in the Minecraft realm after they escape a pillager outpost, the nether, and a group of skeletons. To get home, they wander through the Minecraft village.

Finally, in book three, Mystery of the Taco Shop, we meet Harold, a 183-day-old Minecraft villager spawn. He is a Minecraft farmer who lives on the outskirts of town. Overnight a Taco Shop pops up beside his farm, and someone starts stealing his chicken eggs. Is it skeletons? And can he and the other villagers defeat them? Find out in Mystery of the Taco Shop.

The latest and last release for the Strange Things of the Village series is Birds of the Swamp Land.

Birds of the Swamp Land

Birds of the Swam Land is about Minecraft villager spawn Felix. He has a secret! He didn’t come from the village but fell out of a sky village 75 blocks above them. He grew up with sea turtles and eventually became Felix the Fisherman Minecraft Villager spawn. If you thought Harold was old, you will think Felix is ancient! He is a 386-day-old Minecraft villager spawn. He has survived the great fall, creepers, skeletons, the warden, a frog infestation, and even drowns! But can he really survive his latest plague? An infestation of turkeys in his fishing swamp plus flocks of birds that swarm the village? If you think the answer is yes, then you may be surprised when you read Birds of the Swampland! Heroes come from the most mysterious places, though. You can now read the final installment in the Strange things in the Village series in ebook, paperback, and Kindle Unlimited format.
