Do your kiddos just love to play pretend store? I know it is a very popular game around here. Well, to make this game more educational I’ve come up with a fun printable lesson plan game to spice things up a bit. This pretend shop printable set includes 6 printable pages including sales tags, open and closed signs, and much more! Everything you need to set up a fun shop for the afternoon! It is designed for kids in grades pre-K to 2nd. As far a subjects goes this game teaches numbers, life skills, and economics.

You can purchase the Pretend Shop Printable here!

Description:

This pretend shop game kit includes all the features you need to set up a play paper shop in your classroom or home to teach the kids about money, colors, and numbers.

Objective: Learning about buying and selling, colors, numbers, and scissor skills.

This printable includes:

  • Coins: 1, 2, 5 cent coins
  • Shopping price tags to put on items
  • 3 “Specials” Signs
  • 2 Airplane tickets to sell in the shop
  • 4 Receipts
  • Open and Closed Signs
  • Cash Register
  • Shop Sign
  • Credit Card
  • 2 Circus Tickets
  • Key
  • 3 pencils

This is a print activity:

All pages are designed to print on 8.5 X 11 paper. There is a total of 6 pages.

The items are designed to be easy to cut out and serve as a great fine motor skills activity for children learning to use scissors.

Classroom Based Game:

You can print out as many copies of this item as you like. If you are in a classroom you can split the students into table groups of 3 and have them each cut out 2 pages. Then they can work together to set up the store. One can be the shop keeper while the other two are the customers. You can set a timer and have the students switch roles when the time goes off. Have the “customers” set up the paper items to buy with the price tags and then have them bring them to the “shop keeper” to make the sale. You can add in items from around the classroom for the students to pretend to buy as well like markers, paper for crafts, etc.

Homeschool or Home based Game:

If you are at home you can use this activity for a game or for home school. You can have your child work with their fine motor skills and cut out some of the pages (you can help since it is a lot to cut out for one child). Then you can trade off being the shop keeper and the customer with the child. Have the “customers” set up the paper items to buy with the price tags and then have them bring them to the “shop keeper” to make the sale. You can add in items from around the house for the students to pretend to buy as well like markers, paper for crafts, stuffed animals, toy food etc.

Bonus Products to Go with this Activity:

While this activity is all inclusive and you don’t necessarily NEED anything to go with it, I’m going to take you through a few fun products that might be nice to have on hand while you are playing the game. This could be so that the store activity lasts longer, or so that you have more 3D items to sell in the shop! So, the first set is the kitchen plastic food set! this is always a win because it gives that grocery store feel. You can grab one on amazon pretty reasonably here if you don’t have one already. This one comes with a variety of house hold items you could pretend to buy and sell. PLUS the kids would enjoy playing with it later as well.

Another interesting item that you could get for your store are squishy marshmallow fruit plush toys. they go along with the grocery story theme but also are a sensory toy because they are soft and squishy with a velvety feel to them. These would make fun, additions to the shop set that all the kids would want to buy. You can get a set on amazon here.

Hope you enjoyed a peak at this great new learning set we have available!
