Three months in isolation, social distancing, whatever you wish to call it sometimes becomes a little stressful at times. I often find that I simply return to old habits of retreating into myself so to speak. The sence of time loss is becoming greater and greater these days. I remember from my previous times in isolation (due to sickness) many years ago that the same thing happened. It’s like my mind beginning to move much slower in an effort to make up for the extensive amount of time in one place. We went for a drive today, just to see if I could snap myself out of it. To some extent that works. Anyway, I find that have a small pool in the back yard for my daughter has been such a blessing.

We miss the “big pool”

One thing we definitely miss is getting to go to the community pool! It was awesome and there was always little kids for my daughter to play with. It was one of the “exciting adventures” of our summer. Along with trips to Walmart and the dollar tree! Alas that is not to be this summer.

Our mini pools grand opening!

I didn’t want a deep pool because that was too big of a drowning risk. We decided to go with the simple plastic pools again this year. If you have seen our garden post from earlier this week you will note that we repurposed our old pools from previous years to create a raised garden! You can check it out here!

We found an old pools latter from many many years ago in our shed earlier in the summer and decided to add it to the small pool as a fun element to climb on. We also have an inflatable boat that can be filled with water, or set in the pool for added fun!

Our mini pool is very relaxing to sit by, and it certainly breaks up or many days at home when my daughter gets to go outside and splash around for awhile.

We have a interesting water hose, it shrinks and grows as it drains and fills up with water. It has a very easy adjusting shut off valve that you can change the pressure of the spray (or completely shut it off. All you do is turn a little knob. The knob is so easy to turn that even a 5 year old can do it. You know how some water hoses are a more force to change the settings. You can get one for yourself this summer here!

This feature makes it really fun because we can make it rain while filling up the pool to cool off! it is like a sprinkler. Grab your EcoEarth Expandable water hose here! The expandable feature is great to because we bring our water hose inside so it doesn’t get super gross or collect bacteria on hot days. When the hose isn’t full of water it shrinks back up!

Then check out our bit of a red neck pool set up for this summer! It has been a great experience for my daughter! It is also fun to sit beside and TAN for me!

I’ll link some of the items featured in our photo here:

I had meant to get this post out last week, but with the shear hectic turn that the past week took, I decided a vacation from the blog was in order.

Thanks for stopping by, if you like be sure to share on Pinterest!
