We have now entered into day 15 of quarantine here, with an unsightly amount of days left for us. Today, we are going to be giving you a top of the toy box list of toys that have helped us survive being stuck at home! Without further ado lets dive right in!

Princess Poly Pocket Set

The Polly Pocket princess Set is one that we put into a storage set. It comes with tons of little parts, and lots of bonus sets to get along with it. Over the years my daughter has collected many of the pieces to this set including the frozen Elsa and Olaf set (get it here) and the Ariel set ( Get it here!) She even has an Elena of Avalor set that she really likes to carry around.

This bin has been set out by her small table for the better part of last week (and this one) whenever she wants to play, she just sits at here little table and plays with these little Polly pocket sets. They work well together so the entire agglomeration of them has been out. This play by yourself time gives everyone in the house some peace of mind though and gives me a little break. I would totally recommend setting some of these out or looking into ordering them off amazon for Easter or something. If you want some great toy bins for small toys be sure to check these out!

We are going on a Bear Hunt

We sing, “we’re going on a bear hunt, we’re going on a bear hunt”. This equally creeps my daughter out and makes her laugh all at the same time. She is now terrified of bears. Anyhow for our bear hunt activity we made some binoculars out of empty toilet paper rolls (we have quite the collection of these). Tape two toilet paper rolls together as binoculars. Go hide some stuffed teddy bears around the house and sing the song as you guys try to find them! We have Lullaby the big blue stuffed Ty Beanie baby bear that sits up on its own! You can get one of them here!

Kinetic Sand and Pipe Cleaners

The combination of Kinetic sand and pipe cleaners is actually quite magical. It makes for endless hours of quiet play time and kinetic sand cakes! This set out on my daughters table for the earlier half of the week. She even played with the poly pockets and Kinetic sand in the transition between the two. You can order a pack of Kinetic sand off amazon here if you don’t have one!

White Fang on Netflix + Book

Last week we watched the White Fang book on Netflix and then we started reading the classic white fan book. We have the one in the Illustrated Classics Print so there is a picture on every other page! It has been an enjoyable experience for me, and my daughter hasn’t minded it too much either. I love reading though! (and comparing movies to books!)

School Workbooks

Before this whole quarantine thing I went to Dollar tree and got tons of the pre-k and kindergarten workbooks because I wanted to buckle down on preschool better to prepare my daughter for kindergarten. Now, I have decided to enroll my daughter in an online academy for preschool (this is basically like homeschool) So, we are official homeschoolers now. We do homeschool for about an hour and a half a day (even on weekends). We have lighter, more fun homeschools on weekends though, I’m not that much of a stickler!

Markers and Crayons:

Markers and crayons have been a must during this time. Not only for homeschool but also for crafts!

Stuffed Bunnies:

My daughter got a cute stuffed bunny at a parade over Christmas time and now carries it around all over the house and even sleeps with it!

Ice Cream Sales (DIY Library?)

In some of my other quarantine posts I mentioned how you can turn different areas of your house into places from town. My daughter made a library in our book room! She uses here Ice Cream cart (get one here) as the check out for her library books! This way we read a LOT more books too!

Teepee

We have a teepee set up in my daughters’ playroom and she was hiding it in from the “bears” just the other day. It has a little window, and she likes to just sit in it!

Pez Dispensers:

My daughter loves her PEZ dispensers. One broke and we had to order another one. These are super easy to get from the Walmart drive up grocery section as well. She loves walking around and picking out PEZ candy from the little dispenser. If you need another time-consuming activity for the kiddos, this is the activity you need!! Just give them a PEZ.

I find that during the quarantine we have been looking for more activities and doing more, rather than just sitting around and watching TV. It is actually a really pleasant change! I think it makes our spirits brighter to do activities and not binge watch TV. Our only TV time is typically in the evenings when we are winding down and put on a movie or something like that.

Thanks for stopping by to check out more of our indoor activity ideas!
