I can’t believe that it is already day 10 of the quarantine with no close end in sight. Is life boring enough yet that you no longer know what to write about on the blog because you do the same thing day after day with no break in your routine? Well, our lives are not yet that mundane, but after an estimated of a year and a half left of the quarantine (before the vaccine comes out) they could get that way pretty fast. So, each day we must strive to LIVE life to the fullest even though it is still very separate. I discovered that each of us within the household will have a birthday at some point in time during the quarantine. We might as well learn how to celebrate the little moments and accept the sacrifices now!

Today we celebrated one of the birthdays in our home, and it turned out super cute! I thought I would bring you some of the photos and give you all a few more of the tips I have learned about “real” social distancing and isolation.

Tips for Celebrating Birthdays in Isolation:

  • Celebrate with just those in your household.
  • Put gifts on family’s doorsteps but don’t go in (if you don’t live there)!
  • Do online shopping for gifts
  • Use the Walmart Grocery App for your paper decorations and food
  • Get Amazon pantry dinner items!
  • Shop amazon for full themed party decorations: you should still decorate because it keeps things lively, and you are celebrating family!
  • DON’T eat out: we have stopped eating restaurant food because it could be contaminated.
  • Give useful gift items like toilet paper and Germx if you can spare them or find them!
  • Frozen Pizza’s for the win!
  • Watch movies together!
  • Play Games!

Things to Stop During Isolation:

There has been fear inducing rumors of hospitals having to pick and choose around the world who gets life support and who doesn’t. With the elderly and the physically and mentally disabled taking lower precedent it is now time to be more careful than ever. While I haven’t read specific criteria with a set out list of all the people who will and won’t get life saving measures when it comes down to it. I don’t want to take any unnecessary chances. If pre-existing conditions could get us turned out (like heart disease, Crohn’s, or asthma, we are staying in! Furthermore, as long as the hospitals don’t get over run these tough decisions won’t have to be made by doctors. We are doing our part by staying in. Here are some tips to really buckle down on the isolation lifestyle.

Stay out of as many stores as possible! You can do this with grocery delivery and curb side pickup methods. It is the latest thing we have implemented in our lives!

  • Walmart Grocery: This service is busier than usual right now, therefore, you really have to order ahead. However, it is a great way to just drive up and pick up your food.
  • Amazon prime pantry! This is another great method of food delivery method!
  • Big Lots Curb Side delivery!

Birthdays in Isolation:

That’s about all I have for the tips today! Be sure to check out our resource category below for all the other tips I have been giving over the last 10 days! Now, on to the actual birthday celebration! We did a pink, white and yellow theme which turned out cute. With paper plates, sparkling juice we got a long time ago, and frozen pizza! My daughter and I played musical chairs too for our games and watched some Netflix!

We followed our own tips from above and no one from outside the home came into the home. Family members did leave things on our door step which was really sweet. Things like toilet paper and fun/useful supplies! Bless them!

The last thing we want to bring you is some helpful cleaning supplies!!
