We teach hygiene day to day, but have you ever spent a preschool hygiene unit focusing on it. While scholarly things are important for kids, so are the practical tips of life. Lets dive right into some of the hygiene related aspects we have been focusing lately. So. we can drive home these critical hygiene related topics together.

Hygiene at the sink:

Be sure to teach topics such as the ones listed below when you are teaching a unit on “Sink Hygiene”.

  • Proper teeth brushing and spitting out tooth paste.
  • How to wash your face.

Hygiene at the toilet:

Proper wiping is essential to teach our daughters so they don’t get infections. Toilet hygiene in general is a really important topic though so make sure your little preschoolers have learned this:

  • What to do with used toilet paper.
  • Proper way to wipe.

Bath time hygiene unit

Rubber ducky you’re the one, who make’s bath time so much fun! Teach kids all about how to get clean in the bath tub!

  • How to work the soap.
  • How to use a wash rag.

Clothing Hygiene Unit:

Clothing is probably the most difficult topic on this list (as long as the kiddos are already potty trained). Clothing and all of the accessories can be hard for kids to get the hang of. For instance, sometimes it is difficult for them to balance and put on pants. Sometimes their little toes get stuck on the edge of the socks! So, take a look into each of these topics for your next clothing lesson!

  • How to take off and put on different pieces of clothing.
  • How to put on socks and tie shoes.
