We got an air Fryer over Black Friday, which was totally exciting! It came in the mail a week or so ago and I’ve been trying all kinds of stuff out in. Pretty much all that frozen food you’d typically throw in your oven, but eventually I want to work my way up to healthier meals! I’ve heard rumors you can stick whole eggs into them and have air fried hard boiled eggs! Im not sure how well this would work though. Anyway, here’s our air fryer in action!
Our fryer came with a cute recipe book, and I thought it was awesome you could make air fried deserts! Since it’s the holiday season I decided to try out some air fried snicker doodles from the recipe book. To make and extra fun experiment, I did half the batch in our regular oven, just to compare oven cookies to air fried cookies. While the air fryer ones seemed a little larger, they really had no difference in look or taste!
The only difference I noticed was that the cookies stuck to the air parchment paper when cooked in the air fryer, but they didn’t stick when they were cooked in the oven!
The oven did take about 3 more minutes to cook them than the air fryer did, but both had about the same amount of clean up!
While other things in the air fryer do have a much different flavor than if you cooked them in the oven, for instance the cheese sticks are a lot more crunchy, as are the cheese raviolis.
