So, it might seem a little silly, but we decided to celebrate my daughters half birthday with a Mommy daughter day! Complete with a shopping spree and photo shoot, because what could be girlier than that!

So we started out the morning having breakfast and getting all dolled up for our big day. In my mind I had wanted to get a cupcake, and have candles and such, but that idea didn’t pan out. Such is life though, and our day turned out even better than the one I had planned!

For all of you mama’s who have been wondering what to do on a half birthday, or just need some mother daughter activity ideas, check out this awesome list of things we did on my daughters half birthday!

1.) Shopping trip/shopping spree!

To be honest a half birthday shopping spree was totally unintentional, we were headed to the library when we discovered we forget my headphones. I had been wanting to get my daughter her own pair for awhile, so we decided to stop by the store and grab some. We also wanted a cupcake for her half birthday. Anyway, when we got into Walmart we discovered that the little kids shoes were all on sale, my daughter love to pick out her own cloths, at three maybe that’s just a phase, or maybe it’s a girly girl thing, I don’t know. But she started picking out shoes that she wanted, and we for so many pairs, for all under $25. We were super fortunate to find this deal. My daughter actually tried them all on, and tapped around in them to make sure they fit. We got everything from heels to jellies! So if you want to give your daughter a shopping spree, but are a single mom who not made of money, then definitely check out the clearance or hunt/stumble upon the sales like we do! We also picked up a few other things, one of which was a bag of gummy octopus (the sour edible kind) instead of a cupcake, because she likes gummy things alot better.

2.) Lunch date!

For our lunch date my daughter picked Taco Bell! She had a taco and some chips, and loves to sit in their tall chairs. To tell you a funny story (oh the embarrassing mommy moments) we had stepped into the bathroom and some lady interested the stall beside us. My daughter (very loudly) says ‘mommy look how big that man’s shoes are!’ she wasn’t litterally peaking under the stall or anything, they were just close together. Anyhow I was simply shocked and I said well honey this is a girls bathroom. And tried to get her off the subject, but she just wouldn’t budge. Anyhow I used the method of distraction telling her her doll was hungry and had her get her baby bottle out of our bag.

Other than that little incident we had a great lunch, she’s very talkative, and loved her food. At the end of lunch, we cracked out the gummy octopus! And they were just the cutest gummy snacks you’ve ever seen:

3.) Library trip!

We love visiting the local library! They have a kids computer with games, and tons of books, movies, puzzles and more for the kids to play with. Which is perfect for super hot days (like today) or super rainy days. So she tried out her new headphones at the computer (just because I don’t like her to share the headphones there, too many germs). We got a few books, and a few movies for our upcoming week, and had a great time.

4.) Dance class!

After the library we had to hurry home to get ready for her dance class. This is another activity she really loves, and it gets her around other little girls her age. While she was in dance I could hear her saying the different ballet moves and the teacher telling her she was doing great! This was so reassuring because they don’t have a way for mom’s to see in the back.

5.) Photo shoots!

So I love taking photos of my little one, and she is getting to where she will post beautifully. There for a while she hated photo shoots. Anyhow today we were able to do some indoors among some of the tule netting.

P.S. girls I was exhausted out of my brains after this day!
