Rise of the Portals Minecraft Books for Kids

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “The more you read, the better you’ll be,” but did you know that this is true for second graders? Reading at an early age helps kids develop strong reading comprehension skills and a love of books — both important factors in their overall development. So if you’re looking for a good book recommendation to feed your child’s insatiable reading appetite, look no further!

Books for Second Graders Should Be Entertaining

As a second grader, you need books that are entertaining and engaging. The best way to learn a new skill is by having fun. If you like your book, it will be easier for you to read another one! Second graders also need to be engaged in their reading to get excited about it. You might even want to try reading these books aloud with your parents at bedtime or during dinnertime as a family activity!

Fun Books Help Kids Love Reading

I’m a huge fan of reading, and I think it’s important for kids also to love reading. Reading great books helps kids learn to read and write but also helps them develop their imagination and critical thinking skills. The most important thing is to start young! Kids learn more and better at a younger age.

The best way to get your kids interested in books is by having fun with them—and what better way than through books on topics that kids enjoy? If the book is boring, it will never hold your child’s attention.

Find Books About Your Child’s Interests

If your child has a particular interest, you can start by looking for a book that appeals to that interest. Minecraft, for example, is still very popular with children. If your child loves Minecraft and learns quickly from reading books about it, then he or she may also like Rise of the Portals.

Some parents believe that their second graders should not read chapter books because they will not understand these stories’ plot or character development. This is absolutely false! While it’s true that some middle-grade readers may require more time than others to understand certain concepts like plot and character development—just like adults do when they read adult novels—it does not mean that there are no good options for second-grade readers who want to learn about these elements through reading fiction rather than nonfiction texts. In fact, second graders learn about plot development, characters, titles, and authors throughout the year.

Rise Of the Portals: An Unofficial Minecraft Novel

Rise of the Portals is a beginner chapter book for children who love Minecraft, but it can also be the perfect bridge from easy readers to full chapter books. It is the second book in the Strange Things in the Village series by Brie Wetherby. However, reading these books out of order is perfectly acceptable too! Rise of the portals follows the story of two detectives, Lotte and Seb, as they try to find a missing 10-year-old boy in Germany. However, they soon discover that he has left this world and entered into the Minecraft realm where everything is square and skeletons actually walk upright. Lotte and Seb have to not only go through a portal, but they escape a pillager fortress and visit the Nether in an attempt to save Sam! When they finally do, they wind up in the Minecraft village where strange things are always happening. If your child loves Minecraft stuff, like toys and books, then she will love reading about how this trio escapes Minecraft and gets Sam home safely.

It’s available in paperback and eBook formats or through Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited program, so you can read it for free if you subscribe.

Is Kindle Unlimited Right For Your Second Grader?

Kindle Unlimited is a subscription service that allows you to read as many books as you want. It’s a great way to get your child excited about reading, allowing them to try new stories without spending money on each one. With Kindle Unlimited, even if your child doesn’t love his or her current book, they will still be able to find another one they like from the list of available titles.

Kindle Unlimited has another benefit: it allows readers access to over 1 million titles at their fingertips! This includes many popular series, including Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Harry Potter. Suppose there are certain books that your second grader loves but does not own yet. In that case, Kindle Unlimited may be worth considering because it gives young readers access not only through their device but also through other devices such as smartphones or laptop computers if needed!

Another great plus side to getting a Kindle Unlimted subscription is having a library at home without having shelves filled with eBooks.

We hope you were able to find some great books for second graders! We know how important reading is for developing literacy and vocabulary skills. By reading regularly with your child, you’re helping them develop enthusiasm, vocabulary, and comprehension skills at a young age.
