We love doing the roll a dice game! Not only does it help practice with reading as the kids read the directions of the game, but it is also just a nice break from the normal routine. Learning through games is so much fun for kids, it inspires their love of creativity and learning. Check out some of our silly drawings that have been made by playing this game!

Description:

This story based game kit includes all the features you need to set up a fun mini game session in your home or classroom to help your students work with their creativity thinking skills.

Objective: Roll the dice to discover which of the story book features you get to draw on the page, at the end of the game, your students will have a silly fun piece of artwork! The focus is on: colors, creativity thinking, fine motor skills, and art.

Supplies you will need to provide for your students:

Classroom Based Game:

You can print out as many copies of this item as you like. If you are in a classroom you can have your students split up into groups of 3 or 4 and play the game together. Then they can compare their artwork at the end.

Virtual classrooms:

You can share you screen with one of these game pages if you are teaching remotely, then have your students get dice at home and everyone can play along individually. At the end you can have them present their art to work on their presentation skills.

Home Based Game:

If you are at home, this makes for a fun, silly game to play with your kids or during your homeschool routine. This is the method of choice for us! We even play this silly doodle game on weekends.

Story Based Artwork:

This activity is based on the Is it a rock? eBook. You can share this with your students on projector, over your zoom class screen share via kindle for desktop, or with your kids at home on a phone or tablet. A fun way to introduce this art activity and work on reading is to read the book to them or have them read it themselves. Then dive right into the art while it is still fresh in their minds.
