Home Based Game:

This unit works great for homeschool. You can have the slides on a laptop or tablet device to help walk your student through the worksheets and teach them a fun phonics lesson. The PowerPoint slides are designed to be story based (they go along with the Is it a rock? eBook). The backgrounds are eye catching and fun for learners who may not like to sit still for very long. If you are looking to change things up for a week of your homeschool routine to reset the pace, this is the perfect lesson plan for you.

Do I need the eBook: Is it a Rock? (The eBook is sold separately).

No, while the eBook is a nice supplement to the material and can encourage a love of reading in the students as they work in through unit as the graphics go along with the book, the book is not necessary for this unit. If you are interested in the book for your students, you can put it on the board to share it or screen share over the virtual lecture. It is available through amazon (here).
