Even though we won’t be going out trick or treating this year due to covid-19 my daughter still with costume shopping (on amazon) and she will be dressing up this year!
Our Asthma Friendly Trick Or Treating:
We actually have a really fun asthma friendly tradition we do right here at the house that we are going to be doing on Halloween! INDOOR, door to door trick or treating with the family. Just the immediate family and we all shut the doors in the house. So, the playroom door and bedroom doors. Then, my daughter goes around the house and “trick or treats” these doors. It is like a little game PLUS you know all the candy is safe. As a double win? It is asthma friendly and this year social distancing friendly as well.
Halloween Costumes for Kids who have issues with some cloths:
My daughter started out with 7 costumes in our amazon cart and we narrowed it down to just one! Today I’m going to link ALL of her top choices for you in this post! These are great costumes for kids who have difficulties with costumes. For example, the ones that hate wearing the full body scratchy stuff, with the weird masks, etc. My daughter is very particular with any of her clothing. It cannot be too loose, too tight, too ANYTHING. I have written a few posts about this issue before. So, for these we decided to go with things that could easily go over normal cloths, and still be cute. That is my main tip! I find if it just slips on over something normal, it works better. We have a few little Halloween skirts that she has been wearing like this for the past few weeks.
Butterfly Costumes:
This was one of the first butterfly costumes that my daughter picked out. It is a set of butterfly wings that hooks to the end of the wrists and around the neck. it is light and flowy. We didn’t choose it because it would have been too long for younger kids. If you are interested in this costume, you can check it out on amazon here.
Our search stayed on the theme of butterflies for awhile and we ended up finding this beautiful set of wings as well! It is really similar to the first set only great for younger kids because it wouldn’t drag the ground! You can check it out on amazon here!
Then we started transitioning a bit in our search from butterfly to fairy. This was them blend point. The Butterfly fairy costume. She really liked the idea of having all the accessories. You can check out this costume here.
Fairy Costumes:
Of course we had another one along this same line that was a butterfly fairy, but leaning more toward the fairy side. This was such a pretty vibrant costume and ended up being one of the top contenders! You can check it out here!
Next we found this beautiful yellow sunflower fairy. It was one of my personal favorites! I just loved it! Such pretty colors! You can check it out here!
Elsa Costume:
For a brief moment we almost decided to do the Elsa snow queen dress from the ending of Frozen 2. my daughter was pretty in love with it but we decided against it because we didn’t know if it would be one of those scratchy costumes. I think she was mostly in love with all the accessories anyway. BUT it is really beautiful and comes with tons of accessories. You can check it out here.
And the Winner is…
This lovely pink multicolored fairy costume took the cake this year! since there will be no chilly Halloween trick or treating it will be perfect to wear around with whatever clothing choices under it. Shorts and a tee shirt work great! You can check out this costume on amazon here!
This whole amazon shopping thing was pretty fun this year! There was so many more choices than just heading to our local Walmart to get a costume and it definitely had a different dynamic. Last year we went to 3 different stores and ended up returning several different “too scratchy” costumes before finally settling to be something we ALREADY had, a random dress. LOL with the small addition of a cheetah tail. Nice right? Anyway, this was actually a lot less hectic, and just a lot less crazy to do it this way. My daughter had fun getting to click on all the costumes as well. We searched most popular halloween costumes in her size on amazon, we narrowed it down to fairies but we also looked at princesses and other fun cartoon characters. These were just the finalists that made it into our cart. Then we did one final weed through to pick only 1.
We are definitely getting used to this online shopping. Have you seen where the CDC officially recommends it for this winter? If not go check that out here! Thanks for stopping by today!
