Modern Day Shows We Should Be Avoiding!

  •

Wow…modern day shows are a doozy. They can really do a number on the mind an put you in a bad state. I know they can just bring you down, out you in a funk, and just not be something you should be mentally consuming. You are what you eat, or you are what you consume. Eventually what you put in your mind will start affecting you and your children. That goes for the TV shows they watch.

1.) Disney: Owl House

I saw this really great Christian leader I like to tune into from time to time comment on a show put out by the Disney channel recently that we should definitely be avoiding. I haven’t seen it myself, and neither had my daughter. Like I said, plan to avoid it. But based on this Christian leaders response to it, I’m putting it on the avoid list. I’ll insert the video below so you can check out her response and determine if it is something your kiddos should or shouldn’t be watching.

2.) Troll Hunters: Tales of Acadia

This show was super addicting, but that is how bad things are. While it had a very absorbing plot line even for an adult it had really, really HORRIBLE trash contents to be letting our minds consume. Once we escaped the addictive click bate of this series, I put an end to it. We won’t be watching it again. It has a very demonic theme to it with the trolls and underworld. It also has a lot of violence for a kids show. People getting possessed happened a few times, and we skipped through multiple parts.

3.) Netflix: The Baby Sitters Club

We started this series because it seemed innocent enough, and I was kinda tired of the constant stream of cartoons and stuck inside time over the summer. (With all the asthma flares we have watched a lot of TV). A few episodes on the kids started to act weird, like demonic people were going to call them, we skipped the episode. A few more episodes in and little kids…like the kids who were getting baby sat were being revealed as transgender. I quickly shut it off. It was one of those wow that escalated quickly moments but my daughter had stepped into the play room dragging out more toys so she didn’t see that part. I’m not sure what is up with Netflix and the demonic, transgender undertones of their kids shows…

4.) The Willoughbys

We never watched this one but I know it was on the Netflix top ten for awhile after the release. The main reason we didn’t watch it was because the slogan it was running on was getting rid of the parents and being an anti-parent film. I feel like anti-parent films in general are just really bad, but one that the kids want to literally find a way to get rid of their parents is a bad influence.

5.) Avatar the last air bender

This one made this list because it gave my daughter nightmares. It can be pretty violent at times and centers slot around the strange witch craft themes. Things are just not quite right about it and it gives you a really weird feeling.

6.) Coraline

When I ask my daughter what was the scariest show she had every seen she said Coraline! I had actually forgotten about this one. This is a movie that she watched a year ago around Halloween at day care. The very young teacher thought it was a good idea to watch this while trying to get the kids down for a nap…you can imagine how that went! My daughter then made us watch it at home to see how horrific it was! 0/10 would not recommend. Very strange witch craft demonic themed kids show.

I’m sure their are plenty more I could go through, like literally 100’s of shows we should probably be avoiding! But I think I’m going to leave it at this list and these little descriptions and reasoning’s. This is from a Christian standpoint as to why to avoid most of these shows…

Thanks for turning in!

I agree with this list wholeheartedly. The Willoughby and Baby Sitters Club caught us off guard.
