We are on to week 5 of the San Diego Zoo Summer Camp! This week, we were able to do a few fun Activities that go along with the camp, but we didn’t do all the recommended activities. That is just the way of things though. So, were to begin? Lets being with the San Deigo Zoo’s Video!

If you haven’t been following along, This is a virtual summer camp for kids through the San Diego Zoo. It is a free program that includes weekly videos, crafts, and more! You can skip back to week 1 here! We have been blogging our experience and extra weekly crafts!

Animal Families Crafts!

This week we had the opportunity to do some animal families crafts! These crafts are outlined in the above video! Basically the head of the animal is a thumb print, or other finger print. The smaller the fingerprint the younger the animal! Here is a few examples of the ones we did:

Leaf Prints!

This wasn’t one of the activities from the video, just one we decide to do on our own. They are basic leaf rubs. So, we went out in the yard and collected some big leaves. Laid them under the paper and colored over them! Such lovely designs. They look more fall-ish than summer-ish to me!

Chalk Drawings on Black Paper

If you are needing a traditionally outdoor activity to bring inside, CHALK is a good one. Get out some black construction paper and the chalk colors really POP on it!

This week was pretty short in the way of safari camp! We didn’t do very many animal related activities. I am considering switching over to another camp for my daughter because there is only so much you can do with zoo animals! BUT we will see next week!
