Week three of the San Diego Zoo Summer Camp Got pretty lively with its lizard lairs and fun snacks! There was lots of jokes, interesting animals, and fun competitions! The kiddos can watch episode three of the in the San Diego Kids Corner here!

We got to do some fun activities this week to go along with the Safari Camp! As an added bonus the video takes you on a tour of a special habitat in one of the New Zealand zoos! Lets dive right in so you and your kids can have a week of fun as well!

Animal Habitats from FOOD!

Animal habitats out of food competition! Well for us it really wasn’t a competition but we worked on making animal habitats out of graham crackers and icing (like suggested in episode 3) and marshmallows and tooth picks! This week we haven’t been able to go outside a lot (too many bugs, we are being eaten alive) so, we have been doing more indoor activities!

Lizard Lair

The Lizard Lair was one of the activities given in the video and it is SOOOO easy to do. Just grab a little box and glue some leaves on the top of it! Cut a little door way our and you are DONE! Very simple activity with hardly any prep ahead of time! (unless you are like us and it took you a little bit to find a box).

Africa Rocks Play List:

We viewed Part of the Africa rocks play list on the San Diego Zoo YouTube page! We got to view the animals they house in the exhibits! It was our “Virtual vacation” experience for the week!

Our Very Own Animal Encyclopedia!

We have begun creating our VERY OWN animal encyclopidia! Each week we are going to draw a few of the animals we learned about on bright colored construction paper. At the end of summer we will staple it together like a book!

Tour of the Zoo Live Cams!

We took a tour of the zoos live cams and snapped some awesome photos! All the animals were out in force doing really cool things! Check out our photos then go visit the zoo’s live cams and check out what is happening today!

Thanks for stopping by today to check out week three of our experience in a VIRTUAL summer camp!
