DIY No Sew Octopus

  •

We have started doing some “bigger’ projects lately instead of just playing with toys and doing the small DIY’s. Bigger projects just means ones with more steps that are a little more in depth. Today we are going to go through the steps to making our now sew octopus pod! It is really easy! I think my daughters favorite is the little baby octopus!

1. Gather the supplies!

Here are the supplies you will need for each octopus:

Get the kiddos involved in picking out eyes and fabric!

2. Spread out the Bandanna and place a ball of stuffing in the center!

For different sized octopus then just cut the bandanna down. Our baby is done with 1/4 th of the bandanna!

3. Take a hair scrunchie and make a bun out of the bandanna with the stuffing inside.

After you make the bun then spread out the excess material.

4. Cut the excess material into 8 strips.

Each strip will be one of the octopus legs. Take one of the 8 strips and cut it into three. Then braid it and tie it off with the embroidery thread. The braiding is a great way for the kiddos to participate! If they can braid then they can do the legs. Or they can hold the head so you can braid the legs tighter.

5. Attach the eyes!

If you chose button eyes you can sew them on or use the supper glue. If you chose the googlies eyes then you can simply glue them on! And your done! If you are gluing on the eyes this is something the kiddos can do!
