We Celebrate Birth Week

  •

I love to do special things for the entire week surrounding my daughters’ birthday, so instead of having just a “birthday”, we have a birth week. This is probably an “only child thing” and I can’t even remember when we started it. It is one of those simple traditions that my daughter remembers though, because she even told her teacher about it this week. We celebrate half birthday’s too with a little something special, If you want to read all about that you can check it out here.

This year for birth week we did some interesting things. We visited a museum, went to a little parade, played some epic indoor hopscotch, started filming some home movies, and the list goes on and on. We did decide to get a little crafty this week and instead of going to the bowling alley we painted birthday cakes and then decorated my daughter’s birthday cake for her party.

More on her actual birthday party will come in later posts. We love having dinner at taco bell and our taco bell is newly remodeled, so one of our final birth week activities was to go by taco bell. Basically, for birth week, we go a Saturday to a Friday. And her birthday is typically usually somewhere in the middle, Sometimes, we shift this around a little bit, but it is always a fun week. It is typically a very heavy college week for me though, so this year for the birthday party I decided not to do the whole “kids” thing and just do a family party. I am really hoping that she likes it. I have lots of fun ideas for her theme which I hope will end up being enough to make a wow factor for her.

Thanks for stopping by to briefly learn about our birth week tradition!
