Everyone loves saving money! This is especially true about single moms! I have been using this thing called “Roku” for around 6 months and it has been a great money saver, baby sitter, entertainer, and litterally has no learning curve! So today, I decided to share with you all why I am so glad we made the switch! Here are my top 5 reasons you should use Roku instead of cable!

The average cost of cable in America is $107 per month! (Yes, I looked it up on Forbes!) With Roku you pay a one time fee for the BOX and remote set. This costs you less than $40 on Amazon. Free shipping qualifies! Even if you have 2 TV’s in the house you still replace your cable bill in one month!
So, you pay your one time fee of around $38 to get your box and remote. It completely walks you through the set up process, then you can pick from 100’s of free channels such as HGTV, Disney, PBS kids (free with Roku) and so, so many more. You can even watch YouTube on the big screen!
2. You should use Roku instead of cable because it turns your regular TV into a Smart TV!
Yep, with Roku your TV is powered by wifi, which is an expenses many people already have! So, it saves you money to switch. Basically you are dropping a bill! You can get a wide variety from TV, old westerns, weather, news stations like NBC and CNN. Plus you can get PBS kids, Disney, and many other fun kids shows and movies for free!
5. Netflix + Roku
The last reason why I think you should make the switch to Roku for your TV is that you can easily access all of your “subscriptions” this includes things like Hulu, sling and our personal favorite: NETFLIX! Netflix costs about $16.00 a month and you get to watch on up to 4 devices at once! So, 16.00 is way less than the original $107 you were paying and it is 100% worth it! My daughter and I love watching Netflix shows together! They have such a wide variety but some of my daughter’s favorites are Garfield, Inspector Gadget (both are Netflix original remakes!). They also have How to train your dragon!
Don’t worry there are more common things like Spirit riding free, PJ Masks, and Barbie shows! Some current movies include things like the new Grinch, and secret life of pets 2!
