Spending quality time with your kiddos is so important for creating a well rounded relationship with them. What better time is there to make a point of showing love than around the Valentine’s holiday? Crafting allows you to spend lots of quality time with your kids, so lets combine the two and get into some Adorable Valentine’s Day Crafts for Kids.

The Octopus

The valentine’s octopus is so simple to make! You only need a few simple supplies! Start out by collecting some empty toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls. Cut slits half way up the rolls from the bottom. These will be the tentacles. Then you paint them with acrylic paint. For this step you can use a simple paint brush.

After you have painted the entire toilet paper roll then you can use q-tips to paint the suction cups on the tentacles. Glue on some googlie eyes and add a smile in permanent marker and you are done! These are all things that 4 and 5 year old’s can do, so it makes for a very interactive craft!

Give this craft an extra Valentine touch by painting hearts on their cheeks!

Cupcake: Valentine’s Day Crafts for kids

My daughter came up with this fun little valentine’s day craft. You need many of the same supplies for this one that you needed to create the octopus pod! (Are the a pod? I don’t know!) Anyhow simply cut out a cupcake shape from a piece of construction paper. This can be done in any color you choose but we went with red for our Valentine’s Day Crafts for kids! We used a crayon to decorate the cupcake’s wrapper portion and then pink acrylic paint to add some color to the icing!

Then we used two other types of construction paper and a kid safe hole punch to create the sprinkles. They are just little hole punched circles! we didn’t even use glue to put them on, we just added them directly to the wet paint.

Create Valentine’s for Family, School mates, and Friends.

It is so simple to create Valentine’s for all of the people on your list. For my daughter’s school we bought some valentines with mini skate boards attached and then added suckers to the backs of them. At the preschool age kids just love the little toys that come with the Valentine’s!

But as fun as it is to pick out the Valentine’s with the little toys, it is also fun to make valentine’s as crafts for the afternoon. You can send these to distant relatives, use them to decorate the doors in your home (my daughters personal favorite) or your kiddos can just hand them out to whoever.

We have created a SUPER fun Valentine’s Card Printable to make doing hand made valentine’s so much easier on MOM! So grab your printable today and have a super fun Valentine’s afternoon of crafting! GET YOUR PRINTABLE HERE!
