Merry Christmas everyone. Today is going to be more of a comparison post as well as just talking about some of our last minute Christmas preparations. What do you all do last minute? On Christmas Eve we did things like make candy and have what has become an annual stocking party.

Ya girl is really upping her candy platter game these days!

This year everything became a last minute issue, from writing letters to Santa less than a week before Christmas to posting photos about our trip to the Christmas parade. Whats more? Gifts were wrapped within the last week as well and we didn’t even make our yearly homemade Christmas ornaments. It just didn’t happen this year. I don’t even know where the time went. Well, I guess in reality I do. It went to doing things like playing with dogs, being really tired, applying for jobs, and so on and so forth. But christmas came this year regardless.

Now, lets get on to the really cute stuff! We did get a Christmas Ornament for the year from hobby lobby. It turned out so cute. She got a UNICORN! Here is a side by side of this year’s and last year’s ornaments. Is it bad that last year she was wearing the exact same Christmas shirt? Too funny!

We did more of a blue Christmas tree this year and I wanted the gifts to be not so over the top this year. I defiantly cut it down this year, to an extent. I figured as a single mom it would be best to not make a yearly habit of over the top Christmases. I don’t know how sustainable that kind of Christmas would be in the future. Next christmas it will probably be lessened even more. “Minimalism anyone?”

Gift comparison year to year. Definitely down sized! Cut in half from 14 to 7.

Have a very Merry Christmas and be sure to check out the Christmas resource list below for any additional last minute Christmas ideas you may need.
