Happy Halloween! It’s finally Halloween which marks the last day of the Blogtober Challenge! I’m so excited. While I have loved having daily posts go up on the blog, it makes me thankful for my three times a week blogging schedule. To celebrate Halloween and the fall months my daughter’s Preschool went to a pumpkin patch! Of course I took off to accompany her on her very first field trip. As I talked to the other parents and observed the trip I learned a lot of critical field trip advise for moms that you might want to know.

Did you know your kiddos can twin with the pumpkin they take home if you get them a matching pumpkin Halloween costume! While this may be a little embarrassing on the field trip, dressing up as a pumpkin is perfectly acceptable and FUN for kids at home! Get your kids pumpkin costume here:

The Pumpkin Patch!

Let’s talk about the field trip itself first! My daughter absolutely loved it. There was so much for us to do at this pumpkin patch. A cute train ride through the corn field, blow up and sack slides, hay rides to the pumpkin fields, and live goats that were rather amusing! My daughter’s favorite part was the sack slide. You sat on a brown sack and went down a HUGE slide. Pretty fast at that!

Adorable Photo Shoots:

My all time favorite part was getting to watch my daughter have so much fun with all of the activities. With all the smiles around it turned into some great photo shoot opportunities! Field trips make for such cute photos and such great memories!

Field Trip Advice for Moms:

This was our first time to go on a school field trip (since my daughter is just now getting into school). I learned so much from this trip and I wanted to share it with some of the other moms who read my blog.

The first bit of field trip advice for moms I have is that field trips are HECTIC! Like I mean very chaotic. This is especially true if there are more than one class/school attending or if the field trips are to a public place. With this being said it is very easy for the children to get lost. Especially if there is not many chaperones. In the case of our Preschool the adults attending the field trip are not background checked so the teacher could not place a parent chaperone over a small group of students.

Basically each parent took care of their own child. The teacher was left to keep up with the children who’s parents didn’t come. The kids would run in all different directions, some would be left behind and miss certain events. The teacher was running all over trying to keep track of the children and eventually just gave up with that and let the children go all over the facility. As I spoke to one of the other parents she said this was her worst nightmare. It’s why she now attends all the field trips with her child. That and the fact that her child had fallen from a slide at a previous field trip over the summer.

I learned a very valuable lesson that day, and it was:

Always make time to go on field trips with your children.

That way you personally know they are safe. There is just too many kids in a class room  for a teacher to keep up with at an event like this. Especially if those kids are young, excited, and not good at listening with here is so much stimulation around them.

Dress the Kids Appropriately:

For this field trip the kids were in an array of attire from short sleeves to light weight jackets. My last bit of field trip advise for moms is to ensure your daughter has an adorable coat for here next cool fall field trip. I have pulled together some really cute kids coat and jacket options to show you all here on the blog! It is getting getting to be fall and these are great to throw in the car for those chilly fall days!

Over all my daughter and I had a great time on her field trip! We thoughly enjoyed it! I am so blessed to have been able to go. Thanks for stopping by on this exciting Halloween day to read all about it!
