Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies:

  •

For this post I wish I could just show you all pictures and videos or take you on a trip with me! I feel like my words just aren’t going to capture how fun this place really was. BUT for you my fine readers I will try my best!

The Mermaids:

My daughter’s favorite aspect of the aquarium was the mermaid show. It happens a few times a day and it definitely worth while to catch. So you all sit outside of this huge salt water aquarium and they play a catchy song. The mermaids swim down into the water and do tricks and other things. She was absolutely memorized. Then at the end they will come down so your kids can go and get pictures with them. Here are some clips from the show. There are far better ones on YouTube though, if you just look up Ripley’s aquarium mermaids.

The Shark Tunnel:

My all time favorite aspect was the shark tunnel. You wind through a tunnel surrounded by water on a convayor belt. Sharks swim all around you as you go through the tunnel. The water looks like an abandoned ship wreck.

The Playground:

There is an entire three level playground for the kids. They have it pretty safe so they only enter and exit through one area. My daughter lives getting through climb through it, but honestly she loves climbing on pretty much anything.

Touch this and that:

They have an are of the aquarium where you can pet stingrays, crustations, and jelly fish. There might have been a few more thing to pet but that’s all we tried for.

The Puffin Exhibit:

The puffin exhibit was super cute because you could crawl through it and pop out in the middle of the exhibit. It’s all glasses in of course so you can’t actually get to their habitat, but you do get to feel like you are experiencing it!

There were so, so many creatures to see, and things to do at this aquarium. They also have tons of shows, and a gift shop. Thanks for stopping by today to read about some of our favorite parts of the aquarium!

Happy Vacationing,

Brie
