First off if you are curious what I packed for my daughter when we traveled with her a year ago, be sure to check out this post here. It can give you more ideas as to what to pack and what not to pack. I feel like I learned my lesson from last time, though the photos you are about to see probably won’t give you that impression. For this trip I was able to pack less and carry a different bag for her which was way better for carrying her things in!

This all fit into the unicorn bag we got from TJ max specifically for the trip. For this trip my daughter used pretty much everything we packed her. This was both a relief that I didn’t over pack and have to worry about all the “useless” stuff we bought. I also stared to worry that she would run out of things to do on the road trip which totaled about 13 hours or so (don’t worry we had stops along the way). I went with a sort of schedule for our road trip, we would have a movie and I would have her watch it pretty much all the way through on her portable DVD player. Then we would play with one of here little toys, typically this would be about three or so hours and I’d hand her a snack or something to drink, and pretty quickly after this we would be stopping for a bathroom break or just for her to stretch her legs. This schedule seemed to work pretty well for us on the way down and she didn’t really start to get antsy till we were about an hour or so form our final destination for the night.

The puzzle blocks which are the plus blocks brand came in very handy to just stick into my purse and pull out at restuarunts and such things while we were exploring our final destination. I want you all to stick around for more posts on our vacations this summer so I don’t want to give away too many details in a packing post.
As for a little glimpse of my vacation before you actually read the series itself, I typed up this post from the balcony of our condo late one night with my feet propped up. I can hear the sound of really busy streets and laughter, running water, and feel the cool night air on my toes. As for my small balcony it is pretty dark and peaceful out here. I could really get used to working a remote life style from a balcony at night. Where the only lights are my computer screen and a few street lights far below.
