I litterally love the summer months and we have finally gotten to start getting outside some…right here at the end. We have been going to the pool, splash pad, and hanging out by the kiddie pool in our backyard. We have been doing lots of fun indoor activities too.
Gardening and Outdoor Painting:
Last summer we had a very special day where we did out door painting! We hung out papers up on trees to paint them, which made for a totally unique experience. For the past few summers it has been our tradition to plant… SOMETHING. So this summer we planted bean seeds, herbs, and a little tree, I am sad to report though that all of them have died. You can check out more of these kinds of activities here: Cute Girls Day!

Swimming!!!
We have been to the pool a couple of times this summer and the more we went the better my daughter did. At first though, she cried and hated it. She hated wearing the life vest/floatation devices, she didn’t like getting her hair wet at the pool, and she didn’t want to play with anyone. By the time we went for our final swim of summer she was loving it, practicing learning to kick her feet to swim and even jumping in with me catching her.
Bowling
I took my daughter bowling for the first time in her life this summer. She fell in love with the bowling alley and now asks to go all the time. It’s a great way to beat the heat in the summer time! Our bowling alley is very kid friendly as well with lots of old fashion arcade games that only cost a few quarters. We get the lanes with the bumpers to make our bowling experience less of a gutter of course. It has been such a great experience!
Home Pool
We did something a little crazy and kinda regrettable but it was fun at the time. We stuck my daughter indoor slide in our outdoor pool. My daughter had a blast with this, so much fun. The only downfall was that the slide filled up with water through the bottom I didn’t know was open and was out of commission for days. Major pain to clean out. Totally just get a pool with a slide in it like this one here!
Thanks for stopping by to check out how our summer has been. We have an extra special series coming up which I can’t wait to share! Next Monday, August 26th will being our summer vacation series which will run for about 3 weeks. This series will have all our best vacation tips to stay sane with your kiddos. We will also regale you with some of our best vacation experiences!
See you all back on Friday for another great post before the launch!
Happy summer,
Brie
