I have been asked the question: how do you increase your blog traffic (on the Quora form of course…I’m getting really into this! I wanted to bring up the topic here on the blog to share it with you all today. I know summer time is a serious lagging time for bloggers! You are busier and if is hard to post, and like no one is reading blogs! So let’s dive into how you can actually increase your traffic!
I have found that the number one best way to increase your blog traffic is to up your Pinterest game! Pinterest can make or break your blog traffic. I have been Blogging for over a year and the majority of my traffic comes from Pinterest. With that said, you have to use this social media platform correctly for it to work. Let me dive into what I mean in a little more detail for you.
1. Tailwind
For starters you can do the tailwind approach to pinning. This will automate your pinning so that you have more time to write. With tail WI d connected to your Pinterest it will tell you when the best times are to post. All you have to do is select the pins you want. They also have a loop feature where you can set up tailwind to loop through your pins, for this you will want to use the most popular pins from your blog! You don’t know what pins are most popular? Well, tailwind will tell you!
While tailwind is great an all after the free trial it can get expensive for new bloggers. If you need a free trial, you can use my link to get 1 month free: links here!
2. Manual Pinning Schedule
My next bit of advice for you would be a manual pinning schedule. For instance what works best for me is to pin 3 to 10 pins morning, noon, and night. Have a healthy mix of pins from your blog, as well as ones from other sources of the people you follow!
3. Group Boards
Be sure to create group boards on Pinterest. Set up the rules in the description of your board. Maybe you will be a 1:1 board where if a group member pins to the board they must pin something from the board. You can set up whatever rules you like really. I’ve seen one to one boards, a limit of five pins per day per member boards. For me, I give unlimited pins because it grows the board and offers my followers more content. To get members you can have them follow you and request to be added to the board, or you can seek out members from your followers list that would best fit into the board atmosphere.
4. Comment
Aside from Pinterest you can also create a personal connection with other bloggers by reading their posts and leave thoughtful comments. Typically comments forms have you put in your website and this can lead to the author of the blog going back to your site to read your content because they liked what you commented.
These are my four quick tips that you can implement today to increase your blog traffic. If you want to learn a few more tips then you can hop over to the post I wrote about the five ways I skyrocketed my blog traffic in two weeks, you can read it here! You might find it pretty helpful!
Just a tip though, during the summer months blogs always lag. People are vacationing, playing outside with their kids, or at a sports game (OR some other activity). Basically they aren’t reading blogs. The best time to increase you blog traffic is in the winter time!
I hope you all found these tips super helpful for your blogging adventures! Until next time, happy writing!
