I’m so glad you decided to join us for a second episode of Wizard Wednesday. In this post will be learning how to make our own wizard wands. The printable cards in the Magic Science Kit give you all the details on how to make these adorable wizard wands.

So, we’ll spare you the agony of a reading about how to make them and you can just look over the cards. Instead I’ll tell you a little bit about the actual experience. It takes a little over an hour to do the full hour is for the wait time to waiting for the crystals to absorb your colorful liquid. For this activity your kids learn magical color mixing mixing red and blue makes purple.

It’s awesome awesome sensory activity because after the crystals have absorbed your magical color you get to feel them and they’re absolutely squishy. How fun and adorable is that!

It makes your kids feel like real wizards that when they do this fun activity and also get to make an awesome wizard hat. Be sure to check out our last wizard Wednesday to learn how to make the wizard hat.

Heres special tips about this project though. I recommend keeping a bowl of warm soapy water near your project area so you can just drop in your utensils you’ve used it makes for easy cleaning. Another tip is hold your fingers back on the tube when you’re putting on the cats because they are difficult to get on and I did cut one of my fingers doing so. this is definitely an activity that you have to supervise your kids while they’re doing. Don’t worry it makes for a great mother daughter activity and it’s totally worth it.

Now that you’ve heard about our experience making this wand, check out how to make it on these printable cards below that we got in the magic science box. Another tip as a side note is that you can change the color of your wand anytime by emptying out and redoing the experiment.
