Many of you might be wondering how you host a Valentine’s Day party for your toddler’s on a single moms budget. This is a really hot topic for me because I typically go way overboard and spend way too much on toddler parties. As a result, I can’t have as many as I would like to for my little one. This year though we will be able to have our very first Valentine’s Day party because I did a bunch of budget-friendly activities.

Valentine Craft Table: ($6)

It’s no secret as your child gets older you tend to have quite the collection of unused Valentines since Valentine’s come with 32 and most toddler classes do not have 32 kids in them. You can use these for your at home toddler party. We will be taking all of these unused Valentines and make a Valentine crafting table. At the table there will be stickers on to put on Valentine’s, markers and blank sheets of paper all for the kids. They can make valentines for each other, their parents, their other friends, family etc. The plus side is if you don’t have leftover Valentine’s lying around your house then you can always go grab a box of 32 Valentines from any Dollar Tree for a dollar. If you grab a pack of stickers for a dollar as well (we grabbed a little conversation heart foam stickers) then you’ll have $2 in your crafting table activity. Hopefully you have your own markers and stuff like that at the house already, since you have a toddler. You can put those out on your crafting table. To make it a little bit fancier you can also add one of the Valentine’s Day table cloths to the table or you don’t even have to do that, for us we’re just going to use our coffee table and probably put some paper cups that are pink or some other Valentine color, filled with the markers to make it a little more festive. One of the things we’re doing is providing a little gift bagfor each child. You can get 25 for a dollar at Dollar Tree for the kids to put their activities in after we’re done playing with them as well as the Valentine’s they’ve made. So, with all the fancy stuff included your Valentine table will probably come to about $6.

Valentine’s Finger Skateboard Race: ($1)

The next activity we got from Dollar Tree as well. this year they had Valentine’s with little skateboards on them and we’re going to take the Valentine’s my daughter can hand them out to her friends and then they can use them at the party do you have mini finger skateboard races. here at our house we actually have a slide and so we’ll probably be digging out the slide so they can race their skateboards down the slide. but if you don’t have a slide you can always erase them across your table across your kitchen floor or whatever kind of hard surface you have. you can even think about setting up a paper towel obstacle course for them which we are considering doing for a party depending on the amount of time we have. the good news is now if you have six or less kids coming to your party this activity will only cost you $1.

Wack a Packs ($1):

The next activity, again from Dollar Tree because that’s where we went shopping for our party, is a Wack a Pack. If you’ve never heard of wack a packs, they are actually really cute! I was introduced to them for a party that we went to. Basically they are miny balloons, probably about the size of a softball and they’re deflated when you get them, in a little packet. You just tear open the little pack and you have the kids stomp on the deflated balloons, punch them, throw them around, and then shake them up like they’re having a dance party. As they’re shaking around the balloon starts to inflate. That’s when you get the little soft ball shaped balloons and they’re really cute. It’s just a fun activity for little kids to do at a party. If you’re having four or less kids at your party then this activity will only be a dollar because they are a dollar for a four pack of wack a packs.

Food Table($35):

So, the downside to a party is if you’re having it around dinner time like we are you have to feed your guess this is where your party is going to get a little bit expensive just head on over to your local Dollar Tree which is what we did again and we got two plates napkins and a tablecloth that’ll be $3 to decorate your table if you want to make it a little more festive you can put some streamers hanging down from the light or whatever is above your table. To make it even more festive you can take some of your stickers from earlier just probably what we were doing we got to the conversation heart phone stickers and roses going to sprinkle a couple of them down the table. Then for the food and we still haven’t decided yet what we’re going to be serving at our party. If you just go by and grab a couple of Little Caesars pizzas and you’re not having too many kids and adults you can probably make it with three or four pizzas. and so this is going to end up being like $25 for the food plus three or four dollars for your table decorations so you’ve got about $30 in it now. So, you have two options then you can go buy paper cups or you can just use cups that you have, (which is probably what we’re going to do) so there is room in the budget for drinks. If you’re going to just buy some two liters of soda or you can even do juice boxes you’re going to have a couple dollars in drinks at least so this brings your food table total up to about $35.
