By this time in August most of you College Mama’s will be back in classes. I must say whoo the older my daughter gets the harder it becomes to manage classes, two jobs, and being a single mom! One of the things I’ve figured out is you have to let go of some of the mom guilt of having other family members pick your kid up at daycare, or even some of the mom guilt of having to drop your kid a little more! Yep, those have been my two biggest mom guilts since this semester started. We didn’t get much preschool done this week, much playing, or as many activities as I wanted. We played ball, and jumped around, did the three activities in this post, and a few odds and in’s of other things! To top it off my daughter started comming down with an asthma/allergy flare up, and she’s been having to have breathing treatments about every four hours for the past few days! Mama’s I’m a bit overwhelmed with the start of these semester, but I’d love to hear in the comments how you single, college mom’s are handling life!

This week’s play based preschool is all about our artsy little ladies, and no Mama’s I’m not talking about you! I’m talking about your daughter! So, with no further ado let’s jump right in to the artistic fun!

1.) Make a Special Card:

This was a fun idea, and very simple for the being of the semester! We decided to do a G is for grandpa card to send to him and brighten his day!

2.) Make a box house:

I’ve seen time and time again on Pinterest everyone’s box houses ideas, and they range from huge elaborate box Mansion held together with brightly patterned duck tape and perfect paint jobs, to those cardboard boxes you stick your toddler in with crayons for an afternoon of piece. Ours was closer to the later side. We got out a box, some crayons, and my daughter went to two decorating a cardboard porch and box house for our cat! Which if you’ve seen the “my cat traps are working” memes you’ll definitely believe that our cat crawled right in with no prompting!

3.) Make a poster for the box house:

No home is complete without decorations! So I seized the opportunity and drew up a C is for Cat Worksheet and called it a poster! After my daughter was done with it, the poster was tapped up in the cats home!
