Yes, when I say tourist, I definitely mean it. I looked like a total tourist with all my picture taking. Anyhow, back to our originally scheduled programming:
They have golf cart rentals on the island and this is a great mode of transportation, and very easy when you have a toddler because you don’t have to fight with getting them in and of a car seat. The only place the golf carts aren’t allowed to go are the plantation area of the island and the main road. But don’t worry, it is definitely worth your time (if I have convinced you to take a trip to the island) to rent a golf cart ($580/week for a 6-seater) because there are PLENTY of places and things to see.
I was so excited about the prospect of golf cart riding because it would allow me to be a crazy photographer and take photos ALL around the island. There were dirt roads that took you through the island country side as well. I’ll admit my phone had a thin film of dust on it after traveling down these paths. One other downside is how breezy it actually is to ride around the island in the back of a golf cart. But, my daughter (and whole family) had an absolute blast!
So, let me regal you with the photos I snapped while bumping along the “back roads” and around the town on Saint Georgia Island!
The island is packed full of traditional island life attractions such as light houses, tons of beach homes, and sand sand sand. Oh, and of course all the traditional beach greenery. If you ever head to the island, you should definitely travel by golf cart. You can go on all the roads BUT the main one through the island. The back roads and side roads can take you anywhere you want to go!
Thanks guys for joining me for this post on golf cart tourism. I hope you loved the beauty of the island. Have any of yo ever been to St. George Island? If not, do you have an island to recommend for us to visit next? Leave your reply’s in the comments below! I can’t wait to hear from you.
Happy Travels,
Brie
