To start a home-schooled preschool curriculum, I knew I needed worksheets. So, I searched the web to find the perfect ones dealing with the alphabet. I didn’t have time to make up 26 of these worksheets on my own, but I mean really who does? This was the best we could do. Luckily, I found two great sets for free:

We’ve done a home school preschool routine before, about a year ago, and it went pretty well. We just simply fell out of the habit of morning preschool because our lives got too busy and our morning routine got filled up. Now that my daughter is three I knew I needed to get back on it.

The honest truth about preschool or home school in general is that it can be so difficult. Here’s a look into our preschool lives from day one of our new curriculum. The first day back was discouraging to say the very least, and afterwards my chest hurt. I have a little one who doesn’t listen very well, has an extremely short attention span, and so pretty much wouldn’t even try to color, because it wasn’t something she regularly does. Anyhow, I fixed my mind on being able to home school her through preschool. Its something I felt very passionate about.

While worksheets are great, and when you find a free set you feel like you’ve hit the jackpot, sometimes you need to mix things up a little bit. Find a routine that works for your child. Some days it is worksheets, other days ABC mouse might fit in better to your routine better. Maybe even play based preschool, here are a couple articles I’ve written with ideas for a play based curriculum:

The Next thing you need to start a home school routine is your supplies, we have compiled a list of very much needed supplies for starting up your preschool program.

I wish all of you mamas the very best of luck on starting up your home-school preschool routine. I’ve kept one up for about two years at this point. even though day one, two, three, etc can be hard. It is very rewarding!

Lets keep the conversation going, Have any of you started your program yet? If so what advice would you give to my readers on starting one??? We would love to hear from you in the comments below!

Happy Homeschooling,

-Brie
